Re: Scorpio Euro Headlight Wiring

Rating headlights is complicated... But halogen has scored well in CRs testing in several applications. I'm content with the Silver Stars in one Scorp.

Re: Alternate Alternator Upgrade

Kudos for pursuing this. But I'm going to repeat what I noted away above here in another thread, just to tweak you: given that the Scorp alternator has to be installed from below, one handed at that, it would be far easier to use a mule (2.9 out of the car), or starting with a Scorpio alternator bra...

Re: C3 automatic trans issues

Many aftermarket parts are improved over original OEM installed units (TFIs, e.g., to strengthen weaknesses/failure points). The vacuum control module likely isn't one of such items given it's mechanical simplicity (internal spring, internal diaphragm, metal case).

Re: C3 automatic trans issues

Vacuum control modules are available. Re fluid puking (from the fill tube?) I wouldn't discount the owner having overfilled it. Or the fill tube might not be fully seated at the trans.

Re: PCV tube blocked?

Lots years ago I installed a professionally rebuilt block in one of my XRs. Over time minor oil dripping occurred, noticeable when parked as always over a sheet of cardboard. During oil and filter changes I noticed wetness at the oil cooler seal and oil filter adapter to oil cooler seal. Synthetic bl...

Re: Scorpio Euro Headlight Wiring

Had not heard about that. Influences my views a little... A little more on top of how little respect I already have for lawyers, particularly those who form class action lawsuits. Those types aren't interested in establishing truth but rather in the size of the cut they will receive if the lawsuit p...

Re: Scorpio / Sierra plenum and throttle body parts / questions

The opening (hole) on the underside of the left (main) TB bore in your photo is for the EGR tube. You'd need to make a block-off plate if you don't run the Scorpio EGR.

Re: Scorpio Euro Headlight Wiring

None of the cleverly marketed bulbs like Silverstars, etc offer any improvement. They might have a color temperature that is different but that is about it. The reason anybody claims that they are brighter than what they had previously is because halogen bulbs degrade over time. So a fresh standard...

Re: Scorpio Euro Headlight Wiring

Years ago I installed Sylvania Silverstars which seemed to be an improvement in city use (didn't drive much outside of city roads). Today H4 manufacturers claim greater improvement than I recall for my earlier Silverstars. I think I'd be satisfied with their latest upgrade of H4s.

Paul West (on here) has this available until next week. Make him a low ball offer before it hits the dumpster.
