Re: Scorpio Euro Headlight Wiring

None of the cleverly marketed bulbs like Silverstars, etc offer any improvement. They might have a color temperature that is different but that is about it. The reason anybody claims that they are brighter than what they had previously is because halogen bulbs degrade over time. So a fresh standard...

Re: Scorpio Euro Headlight Wiring

Years ago I installed Sylvania Silverstars which seemed to be an improvement in city use (didn't drive much outside of city roads). Today H4 manufacturers claim greater improvement than I recall for my earlier Silverstars. I think I'd be satisfied with their latest upgrade of H4s.

Paul West (on here) has this available until next week. Make him a low ball offer before it hits the dumpster.

Re: Scorpio Euro Headlight Wiring

I activate the high beam switch on open roads/highways and occasionally on neighborhood roads, and of course signaling approaching high beam boors. It's just nice to have that boosted illumination at hand. But overall I prefer the look of the OEM Scorpio lenses than the Euros. I gave up something I ...

I have considered installing 100w fog lamp bulbs - in the actual fog lamps. Not sure the assembly/wiring can handle that.

It can't. Tried it. Did a nose check of wiring afterward; pee-ewww. Reinstalled OEM wattage bulbs.

Re: Scorpio Euro Headlight Wiring

You may be overthinking this (or not...).

On my Scorpio Euros the driving light function powers both the outer high beams and the inner lights. That, along with the tight focus of the inner reflectors, is what makes the Euro "driving lights" feature illuminate as well it does.

Re: XR vs. Scorpio Inner Tie Rods

But...as Scorp inners are NLA, is there enough threaded length on XR inners for them to work installed on a Scorp (iffy but maybe possible?).

Re: "A/C electric fan on when A/C Clutch on"

The bi-metal spiral actuator in the fan clutch couldn't have a precise on/off point but rather an actuation range of e.g. 10*-12*, just as the XR coolant fan sensor does (it works via an internal bi-metal disc which changes shape from convex to concave to establish a ground circuit). Same holds true...

Re: Merkur Depot Exhaust Fitment

To clarify, the potentially serious buyer saw all available info about the SS exhaust, MD's site poop and YouTube video (nothing more was found). He wanted to see a complete installation from underneath (I didn't pay attention to his reasons). It is a bit odd that a photo or better yet a video of th...

Re: Tachometer Repair

Noah's post responding to mine, and my response to his, were sarcasm, Mike... :cheers I know the coils are identical, hence the thought to swap to rule out the tach signal feed side of coil for my8950 as involved in his poor functioning tach. Yes, it's a remote possibility, but my8950 has been tryin...
