I used the Wolo Bad Boy horn, sounds very euro. I like it. A lot better than stock.

This would be the correct part (example, I don't recall the size) http://www.mcmaster.com/#94824a100/=1267ke4 I've used these for years and the only time I have lost one was when I was removing it and it shot across the garage (example). http://www.mcmaster.com/#98395a214/=1267kyl I got mine from Ho...

Re: Large NPR intercooler piping

Thanks, That's a huge help. I'm wondering if I should do 3" or 2.5". 2.5" would probably offer a little more clearance. I suppose I could see how difficult it would be to move the engine back with the Chuck mounts I am using to offer up a little more clearance. The outlet on the NPR is 2.75, did you...

Large NPR intercooler piping

Anyone using a large NPR intercooler with a stock location throttle body? I'm curious what piping and couplers you used to make the connection from the intercooler to the throttle body. I have a fabricated 120 upper that i have been having a lot of issues with cracking at the welds. I'd like to swit...

Re: Coil overs springs rate for a street?

I'm using 450s daily. It's a little stiff, but I've gotten used to it. Too bad TX roads aren't quite as nice as CA roads.

Re: We bought our first xr. Autox/street machine in the maki

Pull the distributor. It sounds like you sheared the teeth off the distributor gear. When that happens you lose all power and oil pressure.

have new end tanks welded on, get a different intercooler, or a narrower radiator.

Re: Strut interferences and a 8inch wide wheel

I have 17x8 et38 wheels and the lip of the wheel is right on the strut tube. I will need to run a thin spacer for clearance. I figure 3-5mm should be sufficient. You may need more with a smaller diameter wheel.

Re: 5.0 swap or rebuild 2.3 head

If I had to do it all over again and I only had a choice between the 2.3 turbo and the 5.0, I'd go with the 5.0. Personally, I'd rather go LSx due to the weight and power, but I like the 5.0L too. :) I'm rather disappointed with my 2.3L and I've done quite a bit. Not sure why it's not living up to m...

Re: Alternate cam for the 1.9 boport?

I tend to hear Schneider Cams thrown around a bit when talking about other 2.3L cam manufacturers. I've contacted them about making a cam for me, but funds have never been available for me to pull the trigger.

Re: cleaning head bolt threads

Personally, I would not use a tap. You do not want to cut into the threads and produce a looser fit. Thread chasers are marketed for this purpose, but it's easy to make your own if you have dremel or grinder with a cutoff wheel. take an old head bolt and make 4 cuts down the threads evenly around th...
