Re: Some brake upgrade questions for weekend driver

If you want to go bigger, I do have a solution that is pretty bolt-in on the front and a good rear disc solution that does not require a master cylinder upgrade. The Focus has been using a 15/16" / 23mm Master Cylinder (same as early XR) for quite some time and the brake feel is very good. Fronts wo...

**SOLD** JVAB rear coilovers

Got a pair of JVAB rear coilovers for sale. Bilstein 46mm shocks with GpA valving and 175lb/in springs (185lb were Tarmac). Also have a set of 300lb springs if interested in going that stiff. Spring rate is ~1.9-2x at the stock location (175=~350 at stock, 300=~600 at stock). New, never used, just m...

2.3L Duratec Part out for the XR.

Well, after about 4 years of collecting parts and making minor modifications to my car, I am changing directions with the drivetrain. Here is what I have, I will try and get pictures taken to post and update, but there are many things. I will also update the post as I remember or find parts in the g...

I'm curious if anyone who has done this swap also has the Scorpio type MC/Booster???
Jeff Esteban. The balance with the front is more important IMO. He's got Wilwood SL4Rs with a 4.12in piston area (Stock is 4.35in and 57mm Focus is 3.95in).

Re: Rear disc brake kit 11" NEW DESIGN

BUMP!! I'm putting in another order for 19 sets. Please let me know if there is any interest either here or on the FB page/PM. They'll be coming with rear stainless DOT direct fit (OE fittings at the chassis and caliper) lines for $160 shipped.

Re: TC brake conversion

Just curious why you are so dead set on the T-Bird/'stang setup? It's entirely oversized (45mm piston vs stock Scorpio/Sierra 43mm, which is oversized for the Sierra, but adequate) which will make it almost like an on/off switch. Lots of pressure with little modulation. If not paired with an appropr...

Re: Direct Fit SS Rear Brake hoses for My Focus Rear Brake kit

I have bad luck with places for these things. Local wanted over double what this place is charging, this place is taking a long time and can only make 5 sets right now. Still waiting on the rest of the chassis fittings, but are shipping out the 5 sets of rears and 5 sets of fronts as soon as they ge...

Re: Focus Brake Mounting

Any guess on what the additional space for that centering looks like? Like, a thick washer or a double-size spacer? Anything I'm gonna run will have 17" wheels just for tire selection, and sticking with the 300mm rotors is attractive. You thought about running the early ST front brakes? I don't kno...

Re: Focus Brake Mounting

How much for the pictured "kit?" I think about $30 shipped. Check with Mike McCreight about brake hoses, he supplies a lot of people with updated brake hoses. I'm sure he can help out! I got hoses coming right now for $75 shipped by themselves. They are DOT stainless with the correct OEM fitting fo...

Re: No adapter 300mm Front brakes

I don't imagine anyone investigated this any further - yes, no, maybe??? It seem in the seem ballpark as using the Focus calipers. Yeah, I was just throwing that out there. If my research is correct, the C-Max Energi and New Escape (Base Model) utilize the same caliper as the Focus with a height fo...

Direct Fit SS Rear Brake hoses for My Focus Rear Brake kit

$85 shipped: I'm putting in the order for 10 sets of 24" Black Coated DOT SS PTFE brake hoses with the correct fittings. By correct fittings, I mean the exact ones for the caliper and also the correct one for the Chassis: notched circle with the provision for the retaining clip. I can order more, bu...

Re: Focus Brake Mounting

And these are 12" rotors? 278mm, right about 11". So can be used on MOST 15" rims. Now, something to consider; the Escape and C-Max SEL Energi utilize a 300mm rotor and the same caliper and bracket. The base C-Max (non-Energi) has the same 278mm brakes as the Focus, so you could utilize the base Es...

Re: Focus Brake Mounting

Continued: Put the rotor on the hub. Place the spacers on the thread adapter. Focus install 3.JPG Now, the next part can be done 1 of 2 ways. Either assemble the caliper (Pads and everything), or remove the mounting pins for the caliper from the bracket. Bolt the bracket to the spindle with supplied...
