Re: Dashboard warpage repair options

Has anyone else had any success repairing warping dashes? Mine is somewhat crack free but has been slowly popping those black vent out and I'd like to be proactive about it.

Re: Bring a trailer XR listing

yeah, the respray looked good minus the overspray on the tailpipe but 4k seems pretty solid. Just needs a new dash and front seats. I feel like 5 years ago a good condition XR was going for 2500-3500. Interestingly enough I got my first two craigslist inquiries on my car the night of this one sellin...

Re: florida merkur owners

BTW, there is an excellent (serious!) karting track local called Andersen Racepark. They have a full schedule of events and have rentals, offer licensing, etc. Something to consider if you're looking for a racing fix until you have time to make it to an auto-x or track day. Thanks Wyatt! Exactly wh...

According to the owner's craigslist ad for the BaT link, mileage is 132k.

Re: florida merkur owners

Hey guys, I'm thinking of moving to to the Sarasota area for at least half the year(jan-jun). Are there any track or autox events local to the area? It seems any major track is at least two hours away. drivefast.org events are almost 2 hours away on the north side of tampa. Doesn't seem like rallyx ...

Re: Car Wash Under Carriage Spraying

Meanwhile I drive a car 5 times its value every season happily :withstupid Five times its market value, very likely... I once made a cardboard template for an aluminum engine undertray I never got around to bending up. To my thinking, besides protection, it would serve as a superior way to funnel a...

Re: Car Wash Under Carriage Spraying

I always hand wash my XR but I have dreams of putting it through some snowcross in the winter at some point in my life. However, I can't bear to drive my car in the salty roads of new england but just wanted to figure out how I'd clean the car if I did. Meanwhile I drive a car 5 times its value ever...

Re: Is there an issue with my external wastegate?

If your wastegate is opening at 15psi consistently, then it is doing it's job, boost is building and being properly bled. Is it just lack of power but runs ok or is it stumbling? I'd check all the intercooler hose clamps for a boost leak that's a quickly checked culprit to rule out.

Re: Is there a quick fix for the Lower Radiator Hose?

The quickest fix would be some sort of universal hose with matching ID's if they stock it:

Re: Is there an issue with my external wastegate?

Try to get a hand pump with a gauge hooked up to your WGA directly. Pump it up to 17PSI and see that it is operating as expected, if so you can look elsewhere.

Car Wash Under Carriage Spraying

For those that drive in the salt belt, selecting the under carriage wash option in a drive-through carwash is the ticket but how do you do that with the XR with no engine splash shield? Has anyone had issues with that? Relocated alternator towards the bottom doesn't make me very comfortable either b...

Re: FS: scorp brake adapters, fg cossie vents, misc

How does one mount these vents? I am just looking at them here and I don't see any underlying anchor points or frame work to fully understand the mounting process... Also, John... would you happen to have a spec sheet on the proper location of the vents? (Not bidding on these, just more curious) My...

Re: Anyone used removable paint on wheels?

Do you mean like plastidip? Lots of people do it but if you're going to REdo your wheels anyway, why not wait and do it once? The selling point of plastidip and similar is that you can peel it off but I've seen instances of it getting in very annoying wheel crevices and becoming difficult to remove.
