Re: Outdoor Car Cover

I don't think it will fit with the cossie wing. It's a pretty fitted setup.

Re: FS: scorp brake adapters, fg cossie vents, misc

I didn't paint them so I'm not sure what shade of red they are. (Pictures are visible right? not sassing, just making sure!)

Re: Hagerty: 7 classics under $10K that you should snatch up

I've been thinking about picking up a 3.2 Boxster S myself recently. I think its going to be the new e36 M3/Miata as far as excellent track cars that are hitting rock bottom and going to pick up steam. Although anecdotal, having recently watched a Cayman S's motor let go on the track in front of me ...

Here's another 90deg over the alternator with a nonstock throttlebody(I wonder what distributor access is like):

Re: New Guy in MA

Welcome fellow new englander, that's a really slick color! I too try and avoid facebook but the merkur group does get alot more activity there which can be helpful when you're in a pinch and need some quick suggestions. I try to make sure I document things here for archival's sake. Most problems are...

Re: Show me your Belt Routing with a Passenger Side Alternator

It's similar to the ranger setup from this thread: http://forum.merkurclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=12217 http://www.turboford.net/album/00000471/Finally_Belts_2.JPG but I sourced a single serp belt crank pulley and used the AC bracket to hold my 3g alternator. I actually have a single belt wa...

Re: Show me your Belt Routing with a Passenger Side Alternator

I converted to a single serpentine with tensioner/ps bracket and pullies from a fox mustang. The mustang tensioner is garbage; you use the bolt holding the tensioner as your release lever point, push too hard trying to relieve tension and it'll strip the threads. Had to use washers to space the alte...

Re: Outdoor Car Cover

For anyone wondering, here is what the Wolf Noah custom cover #172-41046 looks like on my 88. Mine had some weird yellow stains on it in the shape of an alien, probably from storage.

Re: Anyone DD theirs?

I've been thinking about DDing mine more in the summer but when you already have a comfortable car to drive, it makes it difficult to find motivation. Ripping AC out, turbochuck engine mounts and a grabby clutch doesn't help either. I think I've driven the XR maybe 4 times this summer and two were f...

Re: What springs upgrades are most used for street?

Thanks for the XR4i links. I have had that download for some time and have read a lot of it. I don't think race springs are what I am seeking. I would like to have a more firm but not log truck jouncing ride. Who in here is using a daily driving with up rated springs? Parts chosen and vendor please...

Re: What springs upgrades are most used for street?

from the mc2racing web site: http://www.mc2racing.com/products/xr4ti/suspension/springs/rearsprings/index.html Stock-height daily driver Don't convert to coilovers. Use the 200lb/in drop-in stock ride height springs we have, and use 600lb/in rear springs with flattened isolators. Lowered daily drive...

Interesting XR's in Northeast For Sale

Not my listing but came up in my usual daily searches. 48k miles, 5800 bucks. pretty reasonable sounding given the condition. https://albany.craigslist.org/cto/d/1989-merkur-xr4ti-5-speed/6662916766.html Anyone know what "Merkur Commitment" is under the standard equipment window sticker  Also n...
