Outdoor Car Cover

does anyone have any good recommendations for a decent New England winter capable outdoor car cover for the XR? Need not be XR specific. Now that my XR is running great, it may get the boot to the driveway this winter so I can have some elbow room to lose my $#!* when I try and split the body/frame ...

Re: Manual sunroof conversion

You might want to check out MKI(94-00) ford Mondeo sunroof covers/hardware. Looks pretty similar I think

PICTURES NOT WORKING
If you're using google chrome, try downloading"Photobucket hotlink fix" from the chrome web store. It will make all the photos work again.

Re: LA3 question

(We are working on a plug and play piggyback chip for mass air conversions that only work with the LA ECU... so far put down 325 HP, 360 ft.lbs at the wheels with an LA3, chip, mass air conversion, plus some other stuff ) That's a bit of interesting info nonchalantly slipped in there. When can we e...

Re: 88 XR Build Thread - Rose

I hope you were able to blow past that RSX easily and make that Vette work a little to get past you. I did pass that RSX(I don't think it was an rsx-s) but I did not make that vette work to pass me. If someone pops up behind me out of nowhere, they are getting through so I don't have to feel like I...

Re: 88 XR Build Thread - Rose

Made it out to another Track Night In America. Blew a radiator port cap on the way. Definitely had a 3/4" cap on a 5/8" port so the clamp eventually cracked the cap and it spewed coolant everywhere. Not sure how long it had been leaking but reservoir was empty when I stopped, temp needle never moved...

Yes, definitely resolder the board inside and it helps to use a really good, hot soldering iron.

from another thread: http://forum.merkurclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6780#p71590 "The supply lines are 5/16" and use 3/8" rings, the return lines are 1/4" and use 5/16" rings." At this age, definitely replace any of the duckbill clips you remove! I reused my supply line clip at the fuel pump conne...

I was also able to get everything I needed from MPM. Sucks when you do an oil change THEN realize your oil cooler is leaking like a sieve.

Re: Harmonic balance bolt

I've used a "locking chain clamp" from harbor freight with a junk serpentine belt around the pulley for grip and a helper with a breaker bar + floor jack bar for additional leverage.

Re: It's starting!

yeah, very cool driveway! I always liked the idea of a fiero with 3800SC swap or a 900 Turbo SPG but I only have so much driveway space. My wife and I just picked up a very rough 1/400 1974 VW Thing "Acapulco Edition" for us to restore "together." We'll see how that works out but I'm hoping it will ...

Re: It's starting!

awesome! It's such a geeky feeling of gratification when people want to talk to me about my XR. I always play the "what would I replace this with" game in my head and I can't think of much that gives you the "what the heck is this thing" looks/convo for equal money.
