T9 Oil Capacity?

Will 2 quarts be enough to fill it up? I've got no idea how old the fluid is in it so I figure I'd better replace it.

Tried searching but all I could find was the type of fluid.

It'll be up in the air for a gas tank swap so it's as good as time as any!

Engine removal question

Folks, Picked up a replacement motor for my XR and am curious, do I need to disconnect the AC lines to remove it? Or can I unbolt the compressor from the engine and put it off to the side? Planning on recharging the system tomorrow unless I've got to disconnect the lines for the engine swap next mon...

Can't say I've checked the vacuum at idle. I can't say I see the boost / vacuum gauge bouncing at idle.

Have you checked the timing on your car? Mine ran better when I set it correctly.

I used a Ford VC gasket and screwed that up. :( I didn't let the wife know what the gasket cost!

I think my noise is more than a valve train noise.

I was finally able to get back to this. We had to do some brain scratching when it came time to install the belt with the adjustable cam gear. Finally, reset it back to straight up and got the belt installed. rotated the motor a few times and the marks still lined up. We then retarded the cam gear 4...

Well, a buddy and I got all the old nasty hard as rock valve seals replaced, the ranger cam installed (retarded 4 degrees), follwers, and new lifters installed last night. We then had to go help another buddy sync the carbs on his ol' Suzuki. That's the best I've heard that ol' bike sound. Hopefully...

Ok, thanks, I'm in the middle of the ranger cam install but can check the connector while I'm in there.

I still need to get the plug wires. I've hope to get the cap and rotor today along with the rest of the camshaft bits.

Ok, thanks for the info. Yeah, I usually install piston rings by hand too. :D I went and chatted with the guys here at work and was handed this tool for the springs. http://www.wescotools.com/p-12657-kd-3087-valve-spring-compressor.aspx That should work just fine. I also show a thread about using a ...

Well, all the lifters are out and 2 of them are soft. Hopefully, that's the cause of my noise. So how do you remove the valve springs with that metal shield around them? I don't know if the spring compressor I have is going to work. This is the one I have: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/KD...
