A quick estimate puts 4000 rpm at about 80 mph. That's quite an autocross event site they have if you are exceeding 80 mph. I've only gotten near that speed at one event. I don't remember the exact sparkplug gap at the moment, but .045 is definitely too much. .032 - .035 is more like it. You also might want to check the routing of your spark plug wires for a possible crossfire condition.
