Linky pointy to exhaust tip? Still have hood release cable?
Both new hood release cables sold a while ago, sorry.
So this is not a part that you are having made to spec like the coolant tanks, and heater cores?

Re: Brake issues post Scorpio booster swap

Also I've never had problems in a turbo car with a vac booster like you described. Sure on a race track under boost constantly I can see running out of vacuum assist being an issue. On the highway though? Even if you were in boost before the exit's off ramp you should still have vacuum in the boost...

Re: Brake issues post Scorpio booster swap

It looks like I get to re-rebuild these rear calipers. I got the wheels off and checked all for corners. Fronts I can get to back off a bit and spin the wheels quite freely. The rears, even after releasing the e-brake, don't' appear to release the park brake. I have at least 3/16" on the drivers sid...

Re: Brake issues post Scorpio booster swap

Dunno yet. I've had high hard pedal issues from day one. Parking brake doesn't hold at all even though its supposed to be the right cable for xr with scorpio rear disc. Its adjusted as tight as i can get it when released. Rear brake pads are brand new(were at time of conversion). The biggest reason ...

Re: Brake issues post Scorpio booster swap

When I did mine all I had to do was cut a notch out in the firewall, do some wiring and it was done. I re-bent some lines to make everything fit, and removed the proportioning valve as well.

No extra parts made, and nothing removed from Scorpio system except the ABS computer.

Re: Brake issues post Scorpio booster swap

I have to look, I may have made a project thread on it. However, it was before Photobucket tried to start charging for linking to forums, and the photos will be missing if I did a thread on it. I'm not the only one that has converted though, there should be another thread or 2 relating to it somewhe...

Re: Brake issues post Scorpio booster swap

Stock Scorpio calipers at the rear. I did the Scorpio hub swap when I did the rear disc upgrade.

So I should have said:

Stock Scorpio calipers all around....

Re: Brake issues post Scorpio booster swap

Johns got it right. The brakes locked up on me at one point, causing a sensation of a lack of acceleration, or the feeling of throwing a boat anchor out the the trunk when depressing clutch to shift. They eventually unlocked, as I was able to goose the throttle near the end of the test drive and ach...

Brake issues post Scorpio booster swap

I'm hoping its just from the car sitting for 3yrs, but when driving the xr today for the first time in nearly 3yrs, it seems like all 4 brake calipers seized up, or the brake pedal got stuck down. Was driving along and lost all sense of acceleration, lift of the gas and enagae clutch to shift and it...

Re: Manual trans into auto xr

Got her out on the road for a short drive this morning. Found some new issues, not with trans swap, so i gotta look at those. Washed the 3yrs of dust off her, and did oil/filter change while oil was still hot. I may do one more oil change before smog, there may have been some water in there due to s...

Re: Manual trans into auto xr

John, Pretty much as you described above is what I did. I have a really nice Miller portable mig, even runs on 120, which is good cuz I don't have 230 in this garage yet. I cut the DP to turbo adapter at about 5° angle. Installed one side to the turbo with a "gasket" between. Then attached the other...

Re: Manual trans into auto xr

I threw 20tooth in there as I have 18 tooth, 20 tooth, and 21, or maybe 24 tooth gears. Interesting note, my 18 tooth gears are grey(or is it gray?) and tan. My 20 tooth gears are orange and black( I used the black one cuz it didn't need cutting of the nub). The pink one is 21 or maybe 24 tooth, hav...

Re: Manual trans into auto xr

I got pulled over once, in 15yrs with the cracked windshield. I think the cop was more interested in what kind of car the jalopy I was driving was than the cracked windshield... The speedo gear dorkalator here: https://www.tciauto.com/speedometer-gear-calculator says I need 19.573 teeth. I have 195/...
