Re: Fuel Door Solenoid

Find an independent "radio shack" for lack of better term. I have one in Boulder that I go to for that kind of stuff. They had all the parts I needed to upgrade my post war Lionel ZW transformer so it would work the whistles on the modern locos, and so it would fry the electronics in them. There sho...

Re: OBDII Engine Swap?

Yeah, but it's still the same basic trans with it's own issues, and a lot more electronics. Best of both would be to hybridize the A4, with the beefier parts. Low tech electronics, with better hard parts. I've built one, but I think I cut a seal when I installed as it never had od, and then lost rev...

Searched and can't find location of ground points

Like it says. EVTM does not tell me where say ground 104 is located on the chassis. I've been fighting only just barely not passing smog, and keep coming back to a fueling issue. Current issue is a "wall" so to speak at about 3500rpm at WOT. Pulls pretty good, then falls flat like someone dropped an...

Re: Photobucket 3rd party???

I'm using postimage.org now. So far so good, quick and simple. Don't even have to sign up, but I did anyhow. No limits that I'm aware of so far...

Re: Another g-job

I did, and photobucket screwed everyone on their free hosting. I have to find the pic of it(it's backed up somewhere around here). and repost that one. It was another "flange" to mount the waytoobigforstockpowerairfilter to the vam. I had been planning on a MAF swap, and have since put that on hold....

Re: OBDII Engine Swap?

Cali really needs to get their act together. It's just absolutely retarded to require it to match drive axles, even when the new engine/trans combo is far better on MPG, and smog :poke :banghead  :dunno :beats head What are the rules if you were to get spendy, and buy a crate motor, and trans ...

Another g-job

Made another part for Naomi over the weekend: https://s5.postimg.org/scitsooon/20170715_124039.jpg https://s5.postimg.org/nf9ulbc3b/20170715_125259.jpg Gotta take it back in and turn it down to 2.25" so the silicone hose clears the bolts on both sides. It's always easier to take it off than to put i...

Re: OBDII Engine Swap?

I think someones done a 4.6L swap, but don't quote me. I do know that the XR/Scorpio are old enough that there isn't anything(that I am aware of) that non-drivetrain related that is controlled by the EEC-IV. Those 2 cars just weren't that advanced. What are thinking of for a donor? If you check out ...

Re: Eliminating/Disabling ABS & Accumulator Issue?

Thanks much, Bob. CA restrictions on what you can and cannot swap are tight. I've rebuilt this 2.9L, with WP upgraded heads, and it runs very smooth for a V6, but the only way I'd keep it for "performance" is if I can build a bulletproof A4. But I have no skills w/ automatics, and I think that even...

Re: Photobucket 3rd party???

We've been having this discussion on my model train forum for a few days now. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. It almost seems like it could be a ransomware attack, or they are just being really flaky about who they target. I only use PB for posting photos to forums, so it's no loss for me. I h...

Re: Duracool refrigerant

more info, where to buy, is a direct drop in for R134a, or R12? The limited info is just a tease Bought online at Amazon for 19 per can, need two cans. Yes, it's a direct drop in no matter what oil you are currently running. The Duracool website has all the other technical info. Yes AC is absolutel...
