John - every few years the production number issue surfaces. There is some debate over which are the correct numbers. The numbers published in Graham Robson's excellent book 'The Sporting Fords - Sierras' are somewhat different: 1985 12,400 1986 13,559 1987 7,352 1988 6,283 XR4Ti + 16,093 Scorpio 19...

Check the vacuum distribution 'Tree' on the firewall near the EGR. I had a similar problem after a session at Watkins Glen and had blown off the rubber cap that covers the bottom left outlet.

George Carlin (finally) someone who makes sense and says what he means. Been sitting here ...... wanting to speak out about the BS going on in New Orleans. For the people of New Orleans... First we would like to say, Sorry for your loss. With that said, Lets go through a few hurricane rules: (Unlike...

Be warned=

You need to know how to build a microprocessor board with power supply and opto coupler, wire it in to the tank pick-up, odometer and computer, program the microprocessor with a PROM programmer, test and troubleshoot it.

No problem.

I have one, but it's not that easy. The mileage/trip computer is designed to work on the Euro six cylinder engine. It counts injector pulses and uses the quantity and width of these to calculate how much fuel is being injected. It then multiplies this by six to get the total fuel being burned for al...

Chris - I was experimenting with this at the Glen too. Do you heel & toe to keep the revs high while breaking so the boost is there when you need it? OR, do you heel and toe to double-clutch? There are a lot of ways to do this and if you mess up, you never end up going too slow! The few times I ...

Ed - the door cladding is held on with the same rivets. There are no 'clips' as such used. Depending on the rivet gun, you may want to put some electrical tape around the tip of it. When the rivet 'pops' the jolt will chip the paint on the cladding. Also make sure you replace the foam weather strip....

I thought it amusing at 8am Sunday morning, with the sun beating down and the lights and generator still running. We told the hotel we needed lights - we forgot to tell them that they could turn them off when the sun came up! Hey - those bright lights attracted all the bugs from miles around! For on...

Carlisle - the celebration continues

What a weekend! There'll be lots more stories and photos but we had 236 cars at Carlisle. A convoy of 67 cars, a successful banquet, interviews for a future 'Cars at Carlisle' program to be aired on speed-channel, parking lot parties and more. Now 14 of us are at Watkins Glen for two days or hard dr...

I have a new, uninstalled BAT 2-port adjustable wastegate actuator. (Page 25 -M521WA2). This was $139 plus shipping.

Make me an offer close to that and it's yours.
