Boport 1.5 Cam and Valve Springs

Selling my Boport 1.5 cam. Comes with a set of Boport "drop-in" valve springs (these are the same springs that were sold with the stage 1 cam if you bought a kit). Maybe 1000mi on the cam and 4000mi on the springs. Looking to get $425 plus shipping for the cam and the springs. I'll throw in a set of...

Re: Vacuum Ball Removal?

I actually never thought about hiding the solenoid behind there. That's a pretty good idea! I would think the same thing...the ball wouldn't be necessary as long as there is a check valve in its place. I would assume that you just wouldn't be able to operate the outside vent when under boost, but wh...

Re: Vacuum Ball Removal?

So you removed the ball and the solenoid? And replaced them both with a dingle check valve? Or did you just remove the ball? All I did was add a check valve in the line to the ball. I removed nothing. It's simple, the check valve inside the ball is shot, so to fix it I added another one in the line...

Re: Vacuum Ball Removal?

Fair enough, but the effort you would have to go through to eliminate the draft via surgery is greater than simply replacing the faulty solenoid and restoring function. if it works, you won't have air going through the vents-- unless you want it to. Function schmunction. That corner of the under ho...

Re: Vacuum Ball Removal?

Ummm... cause its ugly.

I'm trying to clean up the engine bay a bit. I have no AC, the car gets parked in the winter so i barely use the heat. I dont drive it in the rain, so the windshield never fogs up. I just don't want outside air blowing at me when its 50° outside.

Re: Vacuum Ball Removal?

I just dont want fresh air when its cold here in PA. With the door open and the vents closed wouldn't outside air still blow at the the feet?

Re: Vacuum Ball Removal?

That's what i wanted to hear! Any idea of how to keep the outside vent closed? Where is the vent located? Im sure maybe it could be zip tied shut or something. ..

Ha! I hate being the guinea pig. I was just hoping someone else would have tried it.

I'll probably just take it all out and figure it out.
