Re: Anyone DD theirs?

Also, it's been mentioned here about grounds, cleaning and adding a few. Where should they be added?? The only grounds I've added have been taillight matrices-to-body ground-- they pop up as an issue in lots of these cars. I would do it to any XR I own. The rest were matters of repair and maintenan...

The junkyard photo was the same one I posted a couple years back when there was an XR at the Akron pull a part. Haven't seen one there since.
Were there two of them? I only saw one.

Re: XR LED upgrades (Interior, Exterior, etc)

Can anyone advise on how to remove the dome light cover? I hear they are brittle so I want to make sure I'm prying on the right spot. thanks James Very carefully. I use a paint spatula in order to spread the stress over a larger area. It can't flex too much, but a little flexing is OK. I've been fo...

Re: XR LED upgrades (Interior, Exterior, etc)

Information: If you are going to run LED turn signals, here is the modification needed for the STOCK flasher relay behind the dash. If you need more info on finding it, look in your shop manual. Carefully open the STOCK relay and snip the lead on the integrated circuit as shown in the photo. Easy a...

Re: Best Valve Cover Gasket

Well, good for you. I overlooked trying these in the past because of the poor reputation of Felpro gaskets. Seems they can make a good product, price it reasonably. But overcoming a bad product image is a steep climb. YMMV Does Felpro have a bad reputation, or is it that their 2.3l Lima gaskets are...

Re: FS: Euro arm rest delete

Some obvious points would be for a cleaner look, weight savings, and an easy accessible tray. But of the main reasons I did it personally is my passengers would put their weight on the arm rest when positioning themselves in the seat (common habit for any vehicle) and the lower console is pretty br...

Re: Best Smog Test Stories...I know you have them

What blew me away back in the 90s in Pennsylvania was... The gov't told all the inspection stations to buy these very expensive rolling dynos and emissions testing gear. If you had a 4wd car or truck/suv then they could not be put on the rolling dyno. So these vehicles were only tested at idle. Tha...

There was also a little blurb about the design cost. Not sure if it was free for the exposure or not.

They typically can be rebuilt, but it is easier to replace.
