Re: Variations in LCAs with new Powerflex bushings "?"

I think you'll be well-served to remove the inner TCA bushings from your old arms and then measure the IDs of the pivot bushing holes. I suspect you'll find the new arms to have a bushing hole that is too small. While you're at it I would quickly compare the length of the old arms versus the new arm...

Re: Merkur 'race-car' call out

I get all sorts of comments since I stripped the car and installed a Microsoft Surface for gauge display. Most of them involve people asking me to put pants on, but whatever.

How did the cage work go? Only having 1.5 months from cage install to the green flag seems awfully fast. My big hangup from joining in is that I'll be in Lincoln for the Solo Nationals the week before. I'm pretty sure my wife is none too interested in playing single mom for two LONG weekends in a ro...

Re: Engine "shutters" when boost hits about 1psi

I'm going to guess it's not the BAP. I would definitely check the large hose running from the VAM to the turbo and make sure it's not collapsing. I would also use a DVOM to check the resistance sweep of the VAM door potentiometer and the TPS potentiometer and make sure there are no dead spots. I als...

Re: fuel pump replacement/upgrades

I recently pulled a Walbro out of my race car and swapped it out for a new Walbro. I've been chasing a misfire for ages and I figured I would remove yet another variable. Anyway, the pump was in fact good, and if you're interested in a lower-cost Walbro, I've got the one from my autocross car availa...

I've seen BAT's rack bushings and sway bar bushings, and they were both fine. I've seen Rapido's rear sway bar bushings, and those are fine. I was not impressed with Deflex or NACS bushings. I use Powerflex on my car, and those are what I provide to Merkur owners also.

Re: Cam

If you check out cam companies, you'll find that 4 or 5 of them produce a cam exactly identical to Ford's A237. I suspect that one of these companies made the cam for Ford.

Re: THREE Weeks to go!

Though I should probably not provide an alternative to charity, if you've got an first-generation diff mount in your car right now, seeing as you've won a second-generation mount, you have the opportunity to install the revised unit and share/sell the original design.

...and the winner is...from the MCA forum and not the mc²racing Facebook page... MercMike! Though his submission was certainly the most graceful submission, it did not seal the win. Everyone had an equal chance, and MercMike's entry was selected by having the highest randomly-generated value. So, a ...

Re: Let's see some catch can setups

The PCV line is attached aft of the throttle body since that chamber produces a stronger vacuum than the turbo inlet. Under normal driving the throttle body butterfly isn't open that much, and the strong vacuum aft of the throttle body pulls air from the bountiful reservoir fore of the throttle body...

Re: after market fuel gauge

There are guages out there that let you define a custom range if you want perfection. I believe you start with an empty tank, hit a button, and then hit a button when the tank is full, and you're all set. These guages also have about 8 pre-set ranges too, which cover 8 different OEM or common senders.

This looks very similar to the work I recently completed to my car. Our tabs at the top look the same. :D I had 1.5"/1.75" outlets to work with also, and I also machined adapters on the lathe, but I actually welded my adapters to the outlets and pointed them where I want them to point. https://scont...

Re: THREE Weeks to go!

Still a little more than a week to go until the end of the Carlisle diff mount contest. I have to say, the entries that I've seen posted here and on our Facebook page have been superb. It's not going to be easy to make a choice, so this may end up quite random. Gotta say I love Scott's post though. ...

I know this was part of your master plan all along Brad, and I'm merely a puppet to your design.
