Re: NEW Merkur part of the week

I like the coolant tank, but I really would miss seeing the antifreeze level, I'm wondering how hard it would be add a level sight of some sort, has anyone done that?

Re: How did you intercool

I used a cheap Ebay intercooler, everyone sells this same thing, worked out very well for me, after a autocross lap the left side is hot to the touch and the right is cool, here's a link to one just like it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-28-x-7-x-2-5-Tube-and-Fin-Aluminum-Front-Mount-Intercoole...

Re: Just got a '86 Merkur

Thanks for the comments :)
Gonna convert rear brakes to disc over the winter, I think that will help the autocrossing times a bit.

I thought about redrilling the holes in the front plate to move it up a bit more and then bend it so at least the numbers are more visible

Re: Just got a '86 Merkur

Wow it's been over 2 years since my last post in this thread! I changed out the V belts for a serpentine setup and cleaned up the wiring some more, getting ready for the rotated intake, turned out pretty nice and it solved a weird problem I was having... the car wouldn't turn off when it was cold! o...

Re: Tricks & tips for removing camshaft

I made these tools for replacing valve springs while head is on the car, they worked out fine, would be real easy for removing just the followers.
1" bar stock from Lowes. old sparkplug, air fitting and pipe for the air injector to hold the valves up.
