Definite fishinessseseesse.. The only way that you could lock out OD on the Scorpio A4LD, besides doing something goofy to the shifter assembly is mess with the valve body. Unlike later A4LDs, there is no ECU controlled 3/4 shift inhibit on the Scorpio unit. That said, if you are not paying attentio...

There is a company that manufacturers a Hall Effect sensor with the correct mounitng and specs for a Ford. That said, I do not know if the output signal is similar enough that it could function in place of the Scorpio VSS,
