I think the XR would make a pretty good drift car (with an LSD). The chassis seems to be very neutral and from what I've been told, very easy to control in a drift situation.

As far as removing the box its self, yes you will need to go through the engine bay. And yes you will need to remove the "false" firewall that surrounds the box. The biggest problem will be the pulling the box out overtop of the engine, I've even heard of people going to the trouble of rem...
