Re: Starting engine for the first time after sitting

If you won't be pushing the engine and really just running it to get it used to running, a lower quality oil should not be a problem, but I am not an oil expert. I would go ahead and put a little bit of oil into each cylinder, like you said. Definitely won't hurt, just don't put too much. Recommende...

Re: Starting engine for the first time after sitting

Go ahead with the oil and filter change, you'll have to do that anyways so might as well do it now. Based on the condition of the oil that comes out of the engine, you should base that on whether or not to use seafoam. But I do not think the crankcase will be an issue. What is more than likely gumme...

Re: No fuel....

I had a very similar experience to yours, it cut out a few times, and would sometimes start up and cut out. It ended up being the inertia switch. To rule it out, you can unplug the inertia switch connector and directly wire the two terminals of the connector together. This will at least rule out the...

Re: Go Pro footage of my first SCCA event!

It really depends on the club and what type of insurance they have. I think this particular event they got it registered as a DE event so they didn't need helmets.

Re: Go Pro footage of my first SCCA event!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L41BEkzhUrI Here is a video of a couple of my runs at an HPDE event. Similar to you, I had stock 98 lb/in suspension which caused a ton of body roll. I also had terrible old tires fitted. Since then, I've gotten new tires, new shock absorbers, and 200 lb/in springs in...

Merkur Registry

There has been some recent talk about how many people would like to get a registry going in order to log their car for others to see how many Merkurs are active. I have created a Google Sheet for you to input your information. Simply click the link, fill your info into an open row, and you're done! ...

Re: 88 XR4Ti Start Issues

To eliminate your worries about injectors, take one out (but still connected to fuel/power lines) and place it in a little bag. when you try to start if they are working you will get streams of fuel in your little bag. I did it to check for injector issues on my 944, just an easy way to tell if fuel...

Power Mirror questions

Hi everyone! I am finally getting around to fixing my power mirrors. I have not heard much about the weak points in the circuit where I might have a fault. I didn't see a related fuse in the fuse box, so I took the switch out and the circuit board does seem a bit dirty. Is this switch just a simple ...
