clearance with the ranger pan and the hood will be tight. I have a ranger pan and a 2.0 engine, which is about 3/4" shorter than the 2.3/2.5 and i have about 3/4" to the hood at the tip of the bulge and 1/4" to the steering rack. I'm sure it can be done, just a pita. Also, look into t...

try an 85.5-86 svo box. they have a much tighter gear ratio than all the other 2.3 boxes
