My 89 XR runs a lot cooler with the Shorty Radiator/ IC combo from Merkur Depot. I also have a cossie grill, dual cooling fans, & manual over-ride switches for the the 2 fans & AC fan. Plan to also cossie vent the hood.

The Red 89 XR we have has an overboost problem also. But it has leak just under the turbo & near cylinder 4 on the intake side by the injector.

What Joe said. But also some XR's are very moody on what TFI have. We had the same problem with the Red XR we got. We found out that car only red with a Motorcraft TFI.

I have a 2 fan setup on mine. Just can't remember is they are 10"or 12"

Your how's you U-joint? Your drive-shaft may need to may need to be realigned or rebalanced

If they are balking in fixing the problems, they just need to contact one of our big three vendors for parts.

This is Loren's old XR. It is in perfect original condition. If I had the space I would have grabbed it. And it would live a pampered life in a heated/air conditioned garage. Never seeing rain or snow. Only being driven to car shows. But I don't have such a space. Jim & Jeff, plus Loren can give...
