Re: Flex Joint options...

I have to laugh, I also thought it was "guibo" for many years, until I learned that the word is actually "giubo," pronounced, essentially, "jee-YOU-bo."

Waddaya know...

Re: New Shorty Aluminum XR Radiators in Stock!

Isn't there a mountain of room in the engine bay? I feel like I have 4-5 inches between the radiator and crank pulley. Hmm, not me-- but I would say just go to a bigger pusher fan, and delete the puller fan, if it's an issue... I mean, we're modding stuff, right? I ran my old '85 for a while with j...

Re: New Shorty Aluminum XR Radiators in Stock!

Looks really nice, and thanks again for making these parts available to us. Quick question: does the extra thickness extend forward, to the rear, or does it split the difference when the radiator is mounted?

Not sure what you mean by this John. :dunno
Flooding your intake by pumping the gas pedal in the old, carbureted engine manner.

The gold's worth $2K. Diamonds, not much.
It's $1000 for the Cartier box.
The gold I'll agree with... but you're not selling that box for $1,000. Its worth is tied to what's in it, which is an extremely limited market...

On the driver's side shock tower, the car's build date has been stamped. Mine is 6-4-85, which falls on Carlisle weekend and also happens to make it exactly one month older than my son. 8) On my 1989 XR, the DS shock tower has "1109" stamped in yellow & the driver's door says 11/88. P...

Rust, bodywork, electrical components. If you have the time and a place to put it, it's a nice project, and the car is a pleasure to drive. Best back seat... evar!

Re: Cooling System Cleaner Alternatives

Ford VC1 uses tetrasodium EDTA, which is commonly employed for this purpose. It's also in Permatex's 80032 product, which could very well be what VC1 actually is. The Prestone flush instead uses sodium citrate. Tetrasodium EDTA is quite a bit harsher than sodium citrate and should do a better job c...

Re: Cooling System Cleaner Alternatives

I have used the pictured product with good results-- and yes, it's distilled water only for the refill, as we have very hard water here in AZ. A jug is like a buck at the store, and it's good to keep one in the garage for top-offs, too. I have never heard of or used VC-1, but it sounds easier than t...

Re: installed HALLMAN Boost Controller but...

Maybe post a pic of it and how you have it mounted/connected. As sameguy said, minimum boost is set by the Waste Gate Actuator (WGA) and is nominally ten PSI. What is the level you are seeing on the gauge?

Re: Horn stopped working

Also, run 12V through the horn itself and see if it honks. They get old and die, too. I had a couple that had finally gone through enough puddles and monsoon drenchings, and would only make faint, suffering-farm-animal noises.
