Re: New XR4TI Owner in Western NC

Welcome to the forum. I'd like to hear how the Fox-body gas tank swap goes for you. My XR needs a new gas tank and stock ones are hard to come by. I feel like I need to caution you about the burnouts, the stock drive train isn't really built for that sort of thing. The question is what would go firs...

Re: Junk yard shopping

Any chance you could return with a jumper pack to power the seat motor and grab the seat too?

Re: classifieds

They're not exactly as common as a Camry, so you'll probably have to search multiple places. Craigslist will help with your desire to look in a particular area, as will Facebook Marketplace.

https://www.searchtempest.com/ might help you by combining your searches.

Good luck!

Re: classifieds

Unfortunately there's no geographically-based search for the classifieds. You can post a Wanted ad here and list the area that you're interested in. Otherwise, you'll have to scan through the existing ads and see if the seller has posted the location or if that information has come out in responses ...

Re: Possible damaged threads for thermostat mounting

This may have already been mentioned, but Merkur rear-view mirrors attach to the windshield with an adhesive pad, the metal button SHOULD NOT be glued directly to the windshield glass. For some reason, windshields that have the rear-view mirror mounting button glued directly to the glass tend to cra...

Re: Looking for Cosworth Parts?

The link in the original post didn't work for me in that it opened the store on the US eBay site, but it said that there were no products for my location. I believe this is the same seller's site on eBay UK: https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/crosssportltd I'm not offering an opinion on the seller one way o...

Re: Just bought an 87 xr4 for 600 dollars and she’s coming home tomorrow

There are multiple reasons a fuel pump might not run. EEC relay bad. Inertia switch in the rear of the car tripped. In-tank pump rusted into a solid chunk. Checking for power at your pumps might help with your diagnosis.

Re: Greetings & 8.8 IRS

Welcome to the forum. I can't help with the 8.8 search, but I was happy to see your post. I owned that car for 13 years or so before it went to Don, so it's interesting to hear what's happening with it now. Unfortunately, it had a very boring life with me, mostly sitting and waiting for someone to ...

There's nothing wrong with 17's, I just don't care for the styling. If I'm spending money on wheels, it will be wheels that I like.

Re: New to forum Intro

You never had to do front wheel bearings on it? Guibos? CV axles? TFIs? Distributor? Alternator? Timing belt(s)? YMMV Guibos? Not familiar with that term. Never had to replace halfshafts or just CV's. Replaced a TFI once (long story). Original distributor. Alternator is still original to my recolle...
