I have never taken apart a radio and did this. Would I spray it with starter fluid? That evaporates quickly.

Thank you. Yes, I have replaced the blown fuse in amp. The stereo seems to have been exchanged in the early 90s. I can see why the fuse had blown. The Volume control wants to stay on full volume. Calyx runs around 25.00 dollars. Small container. Lasts a LONG time.

Calix is a paste. Takes a while to get it worked into the pores of thw metal. Maybe spelled calyx.

Thanks for the tip on the valve! There is a product called calix .I am not near home and cant look at the container for spelling. . You brush it on to cast iron. No matter condition. It bakes on. Makes cast iron look new. Lasts a long time.

Got fuse installed. Appears the volume control on the stereo is defective, it wants to stay full vol. until you fiddle with it. Looks like I need to get the vol. cont cleaned up. I would kind of like to stay bone stock throughout the car.
