We actually just cancelled our next event - because they're paving the new road course. Ah, hell, yeah.
I can see how some of your courses go now.. mentally. Thanks.

Fun times, but i need to get some more feedback - Ben, Grayson - looking at those what do you think about my front camber? Not enough? And i'm not sure if you can make tire pressure recommendations by looking a...

Re: We bought our first xr. Autox/street machine in the maki

Looking at the events so far with this car. #1 oct '12 = car ran fine but really crappy handling for obvious reasons #2 nov '12 = motor blew from oil pump starvation and running lean #3 march '13 = valve stem seals failed 1 day before event, didn't make it to event #4 april '13 = failed turbo/back ...

Re: DSP to SM build

Now the question I would ask next is where does the bigger valve head flow better, is it due to extreme valve size or the porting where the cast iron head seems to neck down behind the valve? Well that's what Bo did for me the 2nd time around, I love this head but just thinking out loud on the 1.59...

Re: DSP to SM build

So The thing I've talked about was how my engine is working right now, over the years I've heard about big valve engines are the way to go but like everything you do to a motor, there's a gray area in just adding a big valve head. I'm running a small valve, slightly ported, 1.1 cam head right now wi...

Re: DSP to SM build

Hi Ben, I was just poking around here and saw this. On the topic of sway bars, I was under the impression the Bondurant cars had some ridiculously large diameter bars under them. Of course, hens teeth, but supposedly there was a guy not too far from me with one. Can you talk to him and ask, it woul...

Holly $#!* batman that is amazing damage, for autocross speeds. I'm glad your motivated to fix the XR and keep autocrossing, that kind of damage would have taken down a lesser man.

Re: DSP to SM build

Congrats Ben! How did the new fuel tank fair? Notice anything? It's ok, moves around a little bit but not much didn't have time to corner balance my car before this weekends event but the low speed right hand turn at Oakland, where the right rear wheel would usual have wheel spin on the Oakland sur...

Re: DSP to SM build

I just back from the Oakland SCCA event. I don't know what's going with the SCCA events lately but they are just all fast events now, very sad. I like technical type courses, oh well what are you going to do. XR worked great, Oakland is asphalt surface so my XR doesn't work there as well as concrete...

That tank had been sitting out side for years, so no residual gas in the tank, plus when I was cutting it, it had the same or more sparks.

merkurdriver wrote:What tank is that? Sierra?
Mostly for test purposes will be going to a fuel cell or back to the full size tank.

Cut a old leaking tank in half to get this tank.

But if the Sierra came with this size tank and you can get one? let me know.
