Re: Fuel pump, or pumps, or....

True, from looking at the info you post, it has good pressure, maybe the volume is low.
When you drop the tank, check the screen of the pump, or the tank, maybe it's full of barnacles like mine was.

Re: Fuel pump, or pumps, or....

I don't believe there is any information on the individual pump, since they both either run, or don't run. The system is not set up to run just one. The pulse dampener is not really necessary, many have removed it and not had any issues. I'm not understanding why you test hooking the pump directly t...

Re: FS 1988 XR4Ti

The long hose and foil wrap may have been part of the TSB for that hose failing as well? In my experience, a car with an in-op A/C system, or a hose that's been loose or open ended for more than a few days or so, the system is cooked and going to need a lot more than just put back together and charg...

Re: The EECIV, the MAP, and supercharge...

If you're really going that far, you might be better off to just use a microsquirt. I can't comment on the BAP sensor going about 1bar, my guess is, it would not, because there really isn't any reason to. You could try it though by rigging one up on the bench and put a scope on the output pin, then ...

Re: Up for auction

Instrument cluster. Why do I believe this? After I leave the car out in the sun with the windows up the gauge works. When interior gets hot, the connection is made. It stops working when it cools off. The gauge is definitely (sometimes) getting a signal, so the senders are working. crazy... I think...

Re: Up for auction

Mine only had one issue... non working gas gauge. Not a big deal with the idiot light. I still have a non working gas gauge, but now that I have two Merks I''m thinking about fixing it. We know the issue is behind the instrument cluster, not anywhere else. Where behind the cluster? If you mean behi...

Re: End of the rope with my '88

The EECIV is pretty clever. IF it can determine that the ECT is broken (open or dead short), it will substitute the ACT (air charge temperature sensor) for the startup condition and then switch to a reasonable default value once the engine has warmed up. It is common for the thermistor to fail as a...
