When you get a chance, pop the turbo inlet hose off and grab the turbo shaft. See if you can move it side-to-side and back and fourth. You'll have some play side-to-side - as long as it doesn't hit the sides, you're okay. You shouldn't really have any back and fourth play. Wouldn't she be pulling a...

Re: Tach quit. Wait, it works now! Oops, stopped again.

This intermittent problem can happen when I start it up, or when it's running. Any ideas? Eric Cold joint. Pull the tach carefully, and get to the curcuit board inside. You will find several cold joints in there. Using a soldering gun is kinda out of the question, as they are usually too fat and mu...

Same thing happened to mine. I tapped the tire with a rubber mallet...then I pounded the tire with a rubber mallet. Be sure to 'scotch brite' the hub and rim once you get it off of there.

Seems more than a few of these Merks were housed in a shallow pond.

Re: Temp gauge?

Where did you read this? It's not correct. Bottom line, there are two senders - the original one read too low and so the service part was one which read higher- sounds like that's what Jon has. Search on here for "purple ring" and you'll find everything you need to know. Can't recall wher...

Look up the o-ring kit. You guys should carry them. Also, throw out the part number if you would.

Re: Temp gauge?

About where on the gauge (assuming its right) should the needle be for standard op temp? Early cars without the 'dealer mod' will read high, and move super slow. Later read quicker and about half way at 210 or so. That is from what I've read. When the thermostat opens on mine (stock) mine is exactl...

Is that sarcastic? :) BAT carries a wheel *like* that with Ford logo's. 16x7 @ 249 each.
