I hear the first model change will be to lighten up the Ford 500 to become the Ford A-380 to compete with the Airbus.

Mineral oil is what the pros recommend for a/c O-rings. Conceptually, my issue with motor oil is that it may not be compatible with the specific O-ring material [needs to be checked]; dunno about silicone. Spit, if necessary, seems more desirable since once the O-ring is in place, it will evaporate ...

I'm speculating that at least one part is training for providing convoy security? :?: Yes. I've been doing convoy security training since mid-2004, so it's old hat. The only thing that is new in the training is our ever-changing tactics for dealing with the ever-changing threat. Thankfully my actua...

FWIW, not sure if this is the same but in R&R-ing my exh. manifold [E6] a few times for various reasons I've found the same issue, but mine has no cracks, at all. IIRC, I dealt with it by putting slight leverage [with a bar] on one [anyone] of the exh. manifold studs--you choose; I lined up the ...

An interesting story topic would be the background of Midwest Merkur Parts [sp?]. It seems to have sprung pretty much full-blown earlier this year, or at least it became known to those who don't live in the Chicago area and who read this forum and IMON then. And Jeff Herson is such a nice guy. There...

Spit, and insert carefully and with authority [you've got experience doing that, right? :P ].

But, just the lightest swab of mineral oil if absolutely necessary.

I endorse Vince's point re only the Motorcraft ECT. I installed an aftermarket ECT and had it fail in less than a year. Mortorcraft ECTs seem to be reasonably durable and reliable. On the R&R, I always remove the throttle body [easy] as well as the EGR plate for ease of maneuvering, and you can ...

That car would be an absolute blast to drive, all BS aside. I'll bet it would kick ass at the local autocross. The evidence of that is how he's worn through the driver's side kick panel searching for a dead pedal when weaving through the cones.  YMMV 8) Mine has the same problem!...

Well, keep a journal on it, and let us know how it goes-- My pleasure: Four [4] full tanks of gas later--which is more relevant than total miles driven since the use was nearly all city/suburban driving-- I'm reporting that I haven't heard a squeal. Oh, and I did pick up a 3-groove crank pulley, an...
