Interesting, I've got a pile of original XR seat tracks that I've been itching to just toss, but I feel bad doing so, therefore they just sit in the middle of the floor/walkway. Maybe if I could find some other seats to swap I'd give it a shot. At least if you pare them down to the useable portions...

I'm still a firm believer that what you call "Sudden Intermittent High Idle" is simply the EECIV going into limp mode. I agree. The PCM programming is saying, "I didn't like that input (or lack thereof) - better idle up to make sure the engine keeps running" Next time it happens...

Yes, several times. But going back 15+ years now when I ran a PF3 (or similar).

I can't remember if the idle goes up or down when the IAC opens. But there are other things that can kill idle, like a stuck open EGR valve. It mimics a vacuum leak at idle.
