Re: Replacement for PBR phenolic pistons

I’m giving an update on this topic. Doing a rebuild on my PBR calipers before Carlisle and thought I would get a few photos and add to this post. I bought the pistons listed in this topic centric 146.45013 and they appear to fit great in the pbr calipers. I also bought the seal kit for the same cali...

Re: Planning somthing different...

The other hydrocarbon refrigerants are still around under different names. The red tek appears to use isobutane / r600 or propane / r290 from the SDS sheet vs the fake freeze12 which uses Tetrafluoroethane really r134 or the envirofreeze which only states liquified petroleum and has no trade name de...

Re: Planning somthing different...

Watch out, here come the flammable refrigerant police.... I have not used it but curious to hear your opinion once your finished. I was looking at some alternatives but hadn’t made a choice yet. Bought the Mercedes expansion valve that some others have used and planned on getting universal type cond...

Re: Xr4ti PiDash

I see from a bit of research that some people are tweaking the boot parameters and getting around 10 seconds reasonably. Seems like the stock boot sequence waits for the network adapter to be ready before proceeding. Removing that wait should give you a decent reduction in time. Looks like android f...

Re: Xr4ti PiDash

Looks very nice so far. You could consider a matte screen protector. That helps in the bright sun. Not sure in your case if it would make much difference with the bezel shading the display. I’m running a nexus 7 in the center console as a display for the MS and the matte screen protector does help t...

Re: need a good inertia switch

Make sure you check for leaky tail light gaskets and hatch weatherstrip if you havent already. These cars are getting old now and that rubber and foam doesn’t last forever.

Re: CV Joints

That dust cover should come off with the rubber boot. So yes it can come off. The cv’s are the same as the type 2 VW bus. So if you look up that application you’ll have more hits then searching for merkur cv’s. You can also use rock auto on the desktop version to see the other vehicles that use the ...

Re: Replacement for PBR phenolic pistons

Looking at the Cadillac STS application calipers.. the banjo and bleeder fittings are the same size as the mustang and those calipers at least look damn close. The banjo fitting is just at the bottom corner vs the back on the mustang calipers. I’m tempted to go to the parts store and do a little com...

If you need locks I have a couple sets as well as the air box lid. I don’t think I have extra keys though. You can contact the vendors already mentioned for the key.

Re: Merkur front hubs with Volkswagen struts

Good to have this as an option especially since you can get the VW struts in coil over options already. At the moment I’m trying to decide on this route or converted bilsteins for the new XR.
