Re: Hatch Lock, + Random Info question
Cha-Ching. I got the button to work with your advise.
It doesnt lock now, but i'll look at that another time.
I started my tune up today. The wires were original! Branded 1988, they ALL broke off. I'm pretty sure the plugs, cap, rotor were also original.
I can't believe the car ran at all..

Re: Hatch Lock, + Random Info question
once its unlocked it should push in without exception, and the key does not need to be in..?
I'll give it a shot, thanks.
Thanks for that stinger info, I do like that.
Now, what brands make coilovers for this car, I know AVO and GAZ has a kit for the sierra xr4i that'll fit, anyone else?

Hatch Lock, + Random Info question
I got my trunk open, I sprayed it with lube, the trunk has been closed for so long I found a bee's nest under the hatch! The key cylinder is completely seized I got it to turn with the key but it WILL NOT push in and release the latch. I heated it, hit it, screamed at it. Nothing works. Any tricks t...

Re: New Guy Here, 89 Merkur XR4Ti
Hello,
Well, when I do lapping nights, I go to autodrome saint eustache, some sunday nights they have time trials/drifting.
Could also be a good meet up spot
I'm kinda suprised there's anyone from quebec here.

Re: New Guy Here, 89 Merkur XR4Ti
looks like a 1969 charger. You're closest without going over! It's actually a 70. I'd be surpised if you could tell them apart from that angle. My dad kept a gem from his childhood too. He's had it for 34 years! nope, definitely a charger. I really like the volvo wagon. I wish we got the manual tra...

Re: New Guy Here, 89 Merkur XR4Ti
Welcome! You definately don't want platinum plugs in there - the cheapie autolite 764's are the best plug for this engine. I ship to Canada via postal service all the time and bet I could have given you a better ( total with shipping ) price on your motorcraft brake parts. Fell free to drop me a li...

Re: New Guy Here, 89 Merkur XR4Ti
Hey Matt, Let me be the first to welcome you...I'm also in Montreal (Lasalle), so we'll have to get together some time! Car looks quite clean! For the hatch, does the key turn? You can probably crawl inside and open it from there, as I know others have done so. The solenoid for central locking prob...
