Hey it's Carlisle...most likely they're water bugs.

Besides, If you work on a Merkur, you are used to bugs.

BlackCat, anyone who sells automotive paint has that color. All paints are mixed. Like when you go to Lowe's, they put colors in a can of white to make the color you want. Same basic way is done at autobody stores. Stop in to one and ask to look at their color swatches. That is where you can start. ...

Yes, that adhesive is supposed to be there. To replace it, both mating surfaces need to cleaned. Scrape away the old material and clean the mating surfaces with a grease and wax remover or an adhesive remover. Don't use adhesive removers like Goo Gone that contain oils. They work, but the oil will c...

3M part #72874 is the 3/4" Burgandy Metallic. This is needed for the bumper covers. You get plenty of tape with a whole roll, so praticing with it can be done. 3M part #72774 is the 1/2" Burgandy Metallic. I found it was easier to use the 1/2" on the side trim mouldings. You can use 3...

Does the bumper have to come off? That is the question. The bumper cover is adhered to the aluminum reinforcement. The cover is held there and by the licence brkt. (if installed), 4 nuts each side @ the wheel opening, and 2 swing brkts. that are on with E clips. 1) Front splash shields need to be pa...

Yes the black or red trim can be painted, but for around $20 and 10 minutes time it can be done. I used the tape stripe on an 85 that had the red coating peeling away. The color was a perfect match. I then used the tape on my all black 88. I tried it knowing if I wanted to removed the red from the b...

I can send you enough tape stripe to do a whole car. Let me dig up the stripe rolls that I have and get you the part #'s. You can go to any autobody supplier store and buy it. I think the factory just put on a stripe tape. They are not solid color (molded) and am pretty sure that they were not paint...

I can send you the technical bulletins issued by I-CAR on the QP replacement procedures.

Another thing, you would have to buy well over $500 just in paint and materials to do the job.

Yes.

Let 3M be your friend. 3M has both the double-sided tape and the colored tape stripe you need. You can match both both reds or black. No luck on the chrome.

The cover inserts are tucked at the ends and held altoghether with double-sided tape. The side inserts snap into place.
