Megapole will fit in a ELR.

Eaton53 -

The cars look great!

Just curious about the status of your low mileage Scorpio.

What sorts of things have you had to do to it (if any) since you have acquired it?
How many miles have you put on it thus far? Do you try to limit accruing mileage on it?

Thanks!
When I got it, I took it to my guy and had him go through it as if I hadn't bought it yet.

It doesn't make it 5 miles and right away ends up on a tow truck. Previous owner had put a cheesy trickle charger on it
Did a lousy half assed wiring job. Of course, it broke killing the car. Had my guy take it out and clean that whole lot up.
Mismatched tires were immediately replaced, rear view mirror stuck back on. Passenger power seat switch replaced.

Then the exhaust broke in the middle going 80 down the highway because of even stupider previous owner stuff.
How do you forget to put the resonator hanger thru the rubber donut?? That happened.

Since then it's been tip top. It's always run like a champ. Smooth as silk going down the highway.
I guess this is the plus side of buying a really good one. $$$ up front, but minimal issues later.
I pretty much just drive both cars now.

I have two full time show cars and one part time, so the mileage gets split up. About 1K miles a year each.
But this year, both Merks have been showing up at events, which always goes over great.

XR has an event tomorrow, Scorpio is done for the year. Both cars get routine service next week, then the long winter nap.
There are some cruises that will come up (Toys For Tots), but the ELR will handle them. Bad weather no problem for it.

Next April they will be ready to go as soon as the weather's good enough. There's nothing that needs done.

Seems like just about every Scorpio has had the rear view mirror issue.

How about the struts and shocks? The originals never really lasted very long.

I thought mine were OK on my Scorpio, but at my brother's suggestion I pulled one of the rear shocks and found out there was no gas left in it.

I then went to town on it and did the fronts/rears (KYB) and replaced sway bar bushings and lower control arms while I was at it. Made a big improvement.

I also wonder if your rear bump stops are still present. They are inside the rear springs at the top. These deteriorate with time and not mileage. The originals were foamed polyurethane, and they eventually crumble away.

If the car has any of those issues I'm not aware of them.
It literally glides down the highway like new and handles great.
Also, unlike the XR it has zero squeaks or rattles. The rear view mirror fell off the XR, too.

The front control arms were replaced by the seller.

From a cruise for a special little boy a few weeks back.
He got hurt falling off a parade float, which then ran over him.
He's doing ok now and has a big box of Hot Wheels.
