Hi, nice to see another Canadian XR on the forum. Are you preparing the car for some track use? or just street? Good luck with the build, looking good so far. What was the weight of the cobra rims?
Cheers,
Bill

This car will be my DD. It will see some track and lots of snow. I am not sure of the wheel weight, I will weigh one tonight and post it.

The SDS is mostly plug-in. You just add a ACT sensor and hook up the MAP sensor that comes with the kit. And do some work on the distributor. I was told it takes about 2 hours start to finish to install it.

Did you get the SDS from Shanon at Western Motorsports? I usually try to get out to a 2 day autoX event in Saskatoon in September. How about you?

Yes it was Shannon at WMS. Nice guy, very helpful. I haven't ever autoXed but if I have the car done and running good, I will give it a shot.

Got lots done to the car over the last few weeks.
All the suspension is installed, New motor and tranny mounts, Eaton LSD is in, CVs rebuilt, SDS in and all wiring done and tucked. Got the interior back together with new gauges, got tires on the wheels, converted to Manual steering ,got alt relocated and new Grille. Just waiting on the brakes, Head, Header and some other misc parts. Image

Had to alter the new alt bracket to clear the header that is coming, notice how low it is mounted and still lines up nicely.

The MSD Box is in behind the panel along with the engine wiring.

The catch can that I had made.

And the old parts pile, after I hauled a load already.

x2 on what he said :)

Very nice indeed.

I believe I would have put the battery tray on the passenger side however, unless you only plan on turning left ;)

I put the battery on the drivers side to save space. I got a kid on the way and I need to fit a stroller back there.

Got a bunch done over the last few weeks.
Got the Wilwood brake kit from DG.
Got the Rad installed as well as the catch can.
Got the tires on the rims 245/40s in the back and 225/45s in the front.
Head should be here in the next few weeks and I can't wait.

Only thing is, now you're required to remove those STA's and have them refinished. Rusty parts in the background completely ruin the effect!

I know, I have two other XRs, one which I plan on blasting and painting and moving all the parts over, then everything will get the attention it deserves.
But thats a few years away yet.

I see a front upper grill and headlights in your picture-I need those bits. Looking to sell them?

Both headlights are trash, the one has a broken lens and the other one has two broken mounting tabs. The grille is in pretty good shape other than the far Passenger side tab is broken off. Let me look and see if I have 2 decent headlights from the other cars.
