How bad does the damage come inside the car? My concerns would be windshield fitment. F-ing shame too, that car is HOT.

Happened to my friend's V8 XR TWICE! He forgot to put the hood pins in twice and had roof damage both times. The local body shop fixed it right up both times.

Ouch! A good body man will be able to fix the roof - just make sure you take it to someone who knows what they're doing or it will leak.

just an update, car is going to bodyshop saturday to see what the damage is. i have located a hood nearby and i was searching for a windsheild and i found a company in the Bronx, NY that supposedly gets a run of merkur windsheilds often. this is their ebay store if anyone is interested!

Windshield availability is no longer a problem as they're now being manufactured in China. $400 is no bargain though - you should be able to get it for less - mine was about $250 IIRC including shipping. Try searching in here - we've discussed this one before.

body work is almost complete with the exception of the hood louvers, and paint. i went through insurance (hagerty) and they are covering it all and there is a little left over :D without increase in premium.

Excellent. Glad she's being looked after properly...and it looks like they know what they're doing too!

Good as new ...kinda, sorta.

Looks like they used a wider (than stock) gasket. No issue, and it might be helpful in keeping water sealed out, but it looks like they went all the way around the windshield, no? That's going to cause you some fitment issues with the plastic cowling.

Hagerty, eh? I asked them about insurance for my car and they didn't want to take me because i use my car in competitive motorsport.
