Let the cross-posting continue I guess. I suppose life is still better here than in the Focus ST world, where there seem to be forums all over the place.
Agreed. Really prefer the feel of this forum better and would be nice to have it all in once place. I do find all my tech info here so not a big loss I guess.

I would check in there every week or so, and there'd be maybe a couple of posts-- it's deader than Disco. When you typed, you could actually hear an echo. With this as the Forum of Record, backed by the Club, and with Facebook to handle all the chit-chat, there's just really no need for it any more.

What a waste. The place was jumping until Erik's personal life took a dump (as it looked to me)
and he killed the group rather than pass it on. There were really only a few people that
even had to know, if a transition had occurred.

It was fine having two active groups. It was better, actually. I think there was more traffic here
as a result.

But certain people liked one and weren't going to participate in the other.

I'm sorry to see it gone.
Erik's forum filled a void back when it was created.
Like it or not, changes were made here as a resul, so there's that..
I'll miss going back over the old threads, like the 07 and 08 Targa runs Ian Glyn-Jones and i (among others)
attempted.
i just wish some of the important stuff could have been archived here.

Glad I was active when I was, sad to see it go. WIthout it I wouldnt have met some great Ontarians, we just need to be more active people! Sometimes it feels like Elmer, Mike and I are the only ones left.

Under who? The nonchalance and "I'm taking my marbles and closing this don't and you can all get forked' attitude of the previous "host" make me wary of wasting effort to write and post anything...'specially if its just going to disappear at the whim of some guy who thinks he "owns" everything that scores of people have given--the content providers.

"Wow it has been a loooooong time since I've been on here!! Lots have happened/still happening. This place was going to close, was going to be sold, had to wait, couldn't sell it, kept paying for it (lots of thanks to those who helped pay to keep it going!!!!!!!) In the end, I just couldn't let it go even if I could. I wanted to turn around and walk away but no matter how many steps away I took, I ended up somehow still thinking about this place that we built from nothing but a thought, a dream, a passion, friends, enemies and just good old times and shenanigans. I couldn't kill it, I couldn't hand it over. I know lots of people were disappointed and left probably to never return? I know this place has been so slow now with all the uncertainty of it's future. Well, with MerkurSport now in it's 10th year! (yes, I forgot to announce it last month) I think we should all keep it going. So let's do that, Let's keep it going! I did see some writing's here and there about this place's time is over, it's past it's due date etc, etc, etc. I do find it funny that a bunch of people who support a car that has been wayyyy past it's due date would say that about a place that In My Humble Opinion made owing a Merkur exciting again. So, is MerkurSport staying open? YES. With your help it will be as big as it once was before. If not, it'll still be the coolest little place to hang out with a friend or two. There will be hiccup's along the way which I will try to remedy ASAP (sometimes I don't get a chance to take care of things right away). I will try to log on everyday and see how's it going with the good peeps of MS. Now that you know, tell your friends to tell their friends to tell their friends we are staying open. A big Thank You to you guys for helping out and still hanging out. If you ever want to help out with any donations it would be greatly appreciated and a big help. My paypal and regular email is ecotos@yahoo.com Ok guys/girls thanks for sticking around. I would write more but it's past my bed time lol.

Sincerely, Erik aka Fastmaul. ;)"

I just barely joined the MCA forums, so I'll have to look into the Merkursport forum as well.
