We've been having this discussion on my model train forum for a few days now. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. It almost seems like it could be a ransomware attack, or they are just being really flaky about who they target. I only use PB for posting photos to forums, so it's no loss for me. I have 10gb storage for free, and so far, still have ability to post pics like this to forums:

:dunno

Most of the folks over on the model train forum seem to be remove themselves from PB the instant they get the e-mail if not sooner. I have not gotten an e-mail from them- yet...

I got their emails too. Personally I think it's a money-grab to try and monetize it if you're going to use it for 3rd party hosting like we do to post photos on the forum here.

Yeah it does seem to be a money grab but logging on to PB it doesn't really give any explanation.
PB is getting to be a right pain anyway as there are so many pop up ads it almost prevents you from uploading pics.
I guess what should I expect for free...right?
Unfortunately I wanted to keep posting pics of my build, but it looks like it's a wasted cause. Not going through the time to upload only to have them blocked....

i ignored it completely. I dont think its legit, it looks more like a "click this link" type spam.

Very interesting, I now see that each post that had links to Photobucket have been changed to the new warning logo click on button.
However on my posts, since I used tiny url it didn't catch it and my posts don't have that Photobucket warning button,HAHA, lazy programmers strike again.
Let's see what happens when I click "Submit"
HAHAHAHAHA, no Photobucket logo for me....... :haha

Photobucket used to be great, but for the last few years....
Happily, there's alternatives, and Pee-Bucket will soon go the way of Myspace...

From the news:
Corpus said Photobucket started notifying users in early June but admitted many emails bounced or were never opened. Discussions to address customer outrage are ongoing. What’s important, he said, is a customer’s entire photo collection is still available. They must log in and if they decide not to upgrade, they can download their images and go elsewhere. Corpus confirmed that Photobucket has no plans to impose a deadline to upgrade, and the company won’t delete any photos.

I'm using postimage.org now. So far so good, quick and simple. Don't even have to sign up, but I did anyhow. No limits that I'm aware of so far...
