Four "Merks" isn't enough?.
I can probably get some more.

Edit: There are actually five "Merks" if you count the watch.

You've done a "few" car shows with your XR. Rough estimate or best guess: how many years & car shows & average number of people ask you what mfg or mistakenly ID the mfg? Kind of lame when they can't read "XR4Ti", or how many can't figure out "Ti"?

Thanks for showing the Merkur marque and posting your photos.

The Merkur flag says Ford on it, so they get that. And it does look like a "jellybean" Ford of that era.
I also have that red sign that explains the history of the car and the brand. It would be a far bigger mystery were that not there.
It's the only one on the car show circuit in this part of the country, so it's the first one many people have ever seen.

The #1 thing I get is that people think is that it's some sort of "smaller" Mustang. That's happened many times, had one of those tonight!
This is even with a large diecast Sierra sitting right on the cowl.

Pictures from tonight's cruise in:

Anyone can post their stuff here. Here's why that's not such a bad idea.
I've put links to this thread onto some MUCH larger boards.
They didn't get deleted and I didn't get my butt kicked off or reprimanded, so I guess they don't mind.

I've seen this thread get hundreds of page views when I give a heads up that there's something new.
I'm sure most of the viewers are not MCA members because it didn't get that many hits before I posted the links.
Methinks GM Inside News and City Data Automotive Forum are "driving" some traffic here.
Who knows what else folks are checking out while they're in the hood.

Yeah, I know.
I'm just saying that this isn't the worst place to put your pics if you want to be seen.
I think it's been less than 2 weeks since I did the links and I got about 800 views.
That's a LOT higher rate than I had before I did the links. It seems to be working.

Next weekend there might be some good stuff. :cheers

Even though I won't be in them, y'all better believe I'm gonna put some Carlisle pics in here so the world can see 'em. :headbang

I've got two car shows on 4th of July weekend for the first time this year. :popcorn
No chance of rain. Sunny and hot (it is July), so let's go! :cheers

I thought we were cruising somewhere today, but it turned out to be a cruise-in, which is fine with me.
Gonna put this one on my regular schedule...
