Recoloring/rejuvenating Interior upholstery?
So... what have you guys found to be the best method to rejuvenate the cloth fabrics? I'm thinking parcel shelves, carpets, etc. I've heard/read everything from several light coats of paint with brushing after each flash, to commercial dyes, which all seem to get the job done, but never any follow-up after time to see how the process has held up. Kinda' the same with reconditioning leather... lot of processes and everybody swears theirs works.

I used the leatherique system to redye some SVT Contour seats from midnight blue to black. That held up for years really well.

I used that dupli-color interior dye from auto parts store. Looks like a can of spray paint. It was on an acura with light grey carpet, charcoal seats and black dash. The carpet looked horrible with coffee stains and such, so I pulled the seats and sprayed a couple cans on there (black). You do need to sort of brush it over and give it another coat to get in down in really good. Plus the car needed to sit a couple days with the windows cracked to air out the smell. But it never faded or rubbed off on my clothes so I recommend it.

Thanks Guys. Kinda' contrarian to think that "spray painting" fabric wouldn't gunk up, or look blotchy, but you're not the first I've heard tell it works. I see from their website that Leatherique is primarily for leather, but they do have a carpet dye. You used that on fabric SVT seats, or were they leather?

Sorry, I just realized you explicitly wrote about interior fabrics on and not the seats. I dyed leather seats.john keefe wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 2:46 am Thanks Guys.
