I would like the cladding painted to the color of the car. But, painting that bad boy is one of the last things on the list.

The exhaust from the manifold to the CAT is has been upgraded to 2.5" pipe. A bigger more straight through CAT has been installed. The exhaust from the CAT to the muffler, the muffler and final tail pipe still need to be changed.

Anyhow, that is a discussion for another part of the forum. I think I'll go do that now. :)

Yup, my first.

I remember when they came out. Some guy on my street was an early apopter and I admired it from afar. Leap forward 20 years. A friend from church, who is also a mechanic, is selling this Merk. Says he is sick of putting money into it and needs a reliable car for his wife. I was just shopping for my first toy, so I jumped on this opportunity. :)

Antique Bronze Metallic

I know a guy who used to own 40 XRs at a time, circulating in and out of his possession. Mine is only the 2nd one he's ever seen.

BTW:

Yes, it is an 89. I just have 87/early 88 wheels.

The stripes are not stock. A previous owner did that.

Antique Bronze Metallic was only available for 1989, which are rare in the first place. I doubt that they even made 100 of them.

I still find it very appealing, though. :)
