Image hosting...tinypic is gone...now what?

Post by brokencase » Fri Sep 13, 2019 9:05 pm

I started posting images in my post using tinypic.com

Tinypic.com is now belly up.

As paid members can we post out pictures directly to this website? How..?

Yes, you can. When you create a new post, look below the text entry block at the Options and Attachments tabs. Select the Attachments tab and use the Add files button. I don't recall how to get them to show up inline, but I do seem to remember that there was a maximum size limit above which they would only appear as an attachment that had to be clicked on to view. Sorry for the short answer, but I'm pushed for time right now.

I post car show photos directly all the time. Doubleheader today, so expect pics!
There will be a "post inline" button next to your upload.

If I needed a host, I'd use Imgur.

I've been a happy imgur user for a few years now although over the past year or so they've been making changes to try to capitalize on the social media trend of developing a community.

The best part about Imgur is that it's free and in the 7 or so years of using them I've never had a link go dead that wasn't my fault.

To borrow from Ed though, YMMV.
