Source for Silicone Hose Elbows, Reducers, Connectors, etc

Post by DPDISXR4Ti »

A recent post by Jacek reminded me of this vendor, but I hadn't realized just how extensive their line of silicone hoses is. A great resource when doing custom coolant and/or intake plumbing, such as when deleting the HCV and needing a quick 90-degree turn out of the heater core.

I will have to bookmark this. So when silicone intakes is out of an item I can see if these guys have it. Twice that has happened to me and I had to drive all the way to Summit Racing and pay big bucks for a little electric fan. These look like they may be higher quality than regular ebay types, at least their high heat versions.

FYI, I've seen that other vendors sell the HPS hoses at a small discount. Not sure how deeply they stock all the varieties though.

I'm in Orange County NY. I can't image in any place local to me stocks this sort of stuff in any significant variety, but that's fine.

I've purchased a substantial amount of HPS and had great luck - they definitely have a lot of the weird stuff.

I also use Verocious pretty frequently - they carry a lot of cool stuff from a good number of brands. Most of the cooling system in my XR4Ti is using silicone from Verocious (Vibrant/Venair/house brand/etc.).

My whole setup used HPS silicone couplers/elbows.
They do have a good selection, so far haven't had any issues with any of the parts I have.

HPS does, that is the throttle body inlet if my poor memory serves correctly.

I used the 2 inch ID from Silicone Intakes dot com. Which is just over 50mm ID. It helps if you put it into really hot water for a minute before installation. I think the turbo outlet (which had the flange cut off before I bought the car) was the next size down or 1.75 inch ID. The 3 inch air filter they sell for 15 bucks also works great on the big vam. Merkur Depot also sells the flex hose between the turbo and throttle body.

Edit, I think it's 2 3/8" = 60mm.....I've been thinking about that since posted originally.

Correction, I used a 2.25 inch ID silicone adapter at the throttle body. I measured 2 inch 3/32 inside the TB, and 2 inch 3/8 outside the TB not counting the flange which adds a little more. I'd rather have it fit really tight than go on all loose and rely on the clamp to seal it. Silicone intakes has 2.25 to 2.5 adapters or whatever sizes you need. :cheers
