Merkur Registry

Post by Merkur »

On the Carlisle showfield this year, I met a new owner, Bill Bailey, with a clean ‘89 XR that we worked out was built the day after mine and only 9 VIN numbers away. This lead us to a discussion regarding the Merkur Registry which we had about 15 years ago.
Anyway I dugout the information, updated it and made it available for all to see and to update. You too may discover someone with a car built on the same day as yours!

In order to maintain some sort of control over the database, Noah Boehm, has kindly offered to act as the editor so send all your information to his email at the top of the Registry and he will maintain it.
Here’s the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

Enjoy!

Really interesting stuff compared to the Jalopnik article on total numbers.

Let’s see if we can get all 1106 Merkurs on the registry! If your car isn’t on there - please add it!

The registry got sorted (as it is really easy to do in a spreadsheet) without sorting the Notes too, so they're way off. I can tell you I don't have a Duratec in any of my cars... :-)
1988 XR4Ti, black on black, "Frank"
1988 XR4Ti, "rally car" with Cossie body bits, Koni yellows, 28/16mm anti-sway bars, Rapido springs, T5, Eaton LSD.
1987.5 XR4Ti, mono white, grey leather, T9, K2-edition tribute
1987.5 XR4Ti, mono white, grey cloth, T9 (sold, now in MI)
