For the air-cooled, the cabriolet seemed to sell a bit low, but then again the cabs fetch the lowest prices right after the targas. Non-sunroof coupes fetch premiums. Also seems to have serious issues with body and engine. The seller does seem to have sold at a loss if they picked it up in 2016 during the height of the air-cooled craze. I picked up my 1983 coupe in 2015 and 1976 coupe in 2018 for great deals, but had to search hard and act fast on them.
As for the 996, that price is a bit higher than 996 prices from the last few years. I have seen a slight increase in 996 prices (even non-turbos) over the last few years after the air-cooled cars jumped up quite a bit.
That '86 Cab had issues, so I don't think that's reflective of current 911 values. The odometer hadn't worked since 2001 and there were discrepancies before that time. Reading through the comments, the sale didn't even go through.
The green "rally car" XR4Ti likely sold for too much. But all it takes is two people who are willing to over-pay and you get that result. Don't get me wrong - I'm glad to see it sold for that - but I bet if the owner tried to sell it again today it would sell for less.

Ya didn't go through and is on Ebay. I guess a lot of cars don't actually sell even though the auction ended and it says sold. The website still gets their percentage since the buyer must register a credit card. Some comments show that the next closest bidder buys the car after the winner changes his or her mind. So someone may get the car for even less than it appears. But you take a chance not seeing the car in person or getting the car looked at beforehand. Like the above mentioned car with the broken odometer. It could have another 100,000 miles on it who knows. It is still crazy to think about an XR selling for more than a Porsche 911.

Ya it seems like people are willing to spend when it comes to very nice examples. Plenty of deals out there as well, like when Hoovie from Hoovie's Garage listed all his cars for sale. I think his orange 911 targa was also a 3.2 and sold for about $100,000 less than the black one above. But ya not the cleanest low mileage example out there.
