I'm doubting its ability to hang with a cossie through the turns... something to do with a solid axle on leaf springs...

You should have seen those things in like the BTCC (Saloon, blimey) in the early 70's, they can be made to handle...I've just always dug those things, and as a smaller, lighter pkg, even with the wheezer 100hp 2L I think it'd be more fun to own and drive...the turbo thing is probably overkill...to each his own though...I drove a Hot Rod Fiesta (125hp) for years...The Cossie would have A/C though, which is why I gave up the Fiesta...

But what if it had Cossie suspension like the RS2000 that I took pics of a while back?

Watch this.. http://brayspeed.co.uk/92.htm

Then this.. http://brayspeed.co.uk/andy.htm

The Cossie has nearly twice the power of the Mk2 Escort and its 4x4.
Mk1 escorts are even lighter than Mk2's but not as stiff.

I highly doubt that it had real Cossie suspension Luke, There would have to be loads of modifications to make it fit. Get some underneath pics if you see it again!

The ONLY one I've seen that goes round corner better than, just as good as are only 2. Paul Baily's MK2, and the MK1 that belongs to a guy in Norway. For some reason I can't see the Vid :?

I dunno, that guy did some REALLY nice work. He also regularly works on Lotus's, Ferraris, etc. so you know he's good if those people are going to take their cars to him.

On a smooth track and where ride is of no consequence non IRS can be close to a true IRS...once things get at all bumpy though it's over.

Like I said Luke, next time you happen to see those cars there again, look underneath and if you can take some pics.

Looks like he didn't sell it, well the reserve was not met, and he lowered it. The bids was up to 10k too. I wonder how much of a reserve this guy had on it? When I first took a look awhile back it was a 4k then. You think he is asking way to much?
