Cars at Carlisle

Post by Khobin~ » Wed May 17, 2006 8:40 pm

I'm watching this^ show on Speed, and it just had a nice little 5 minute shot of the Merkurs ar the All Ford Nationals from 2005.

Noticed that a lot of the cars they showed look familiar from here and cardomain...

Makes me want to go even more, but unfortunately for that long of a trip I need more holidays and $$, hehe.

Well I just watched the tape I made of it, convently I was taping some car shows, for a friend who doesn't have cable, when it came on...it was probably less then five minutes.

there were some nice "cossies" that they showed, as well as the rows and rows of merks, and they were talking to a guy named Saul, who was/is director of MCA.

Nope, you got no air-play colin. Aside from Saul, I'd say that Taryn and ZTEE got the most coverage.

Hey, at least they pronounced Mare-Coor correctly, even if they did call it a Ford Merkur.

Damn, I was going to claim copyright and sue Speed for using my car.... then maybe I could afford to get this thing running.

Yes, I just watched that also today. I wished it would have lasted longer, I saw some good looking Mare-Coors  . I especially like the blue one with the wide body kit. I am in Tennesee so IDK if I would ever make it to Carlisle, plus my car isnt no where near the condition to take it to something like that, but hey I got plans for it, and it gives me something to shoot for. Anyone have vids from the Carlisle meets? I love to see a few clips.

Merkur World,

I PVR'd the Cars at Carlisle last night, and this morning I edited it down to just the XR part.

I uploaded it to YouTube, and you can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZT0PP_KZET8

YouTube compresses it down quite a bit, but if all you want to do is see it then use their bandwidth instead of mine ;-).

If you have to have the full quality version of the clip (it's actually pretty good) you may access it from my website here: http://www.85xr.com/Links_Other.htm Scroll to the bottom and you'll see two files, one that's 21 megs and one that 5.5. They have the same content, just two different qualities.

Enjoy!

Oh, wow-- that's night and day! Much more like it-- would love to have had someone a little more knowledgeable reviewing it, but he was effusive in his praise of the car, and placed it well within its historical context by saying how well it transcended it. Very nice; again, thanks, Peter! 8)
