Visiting near palm springs oct 24-nov 3

I'll be attending a two week course, and may have evenings/weekend available. I'd love to see some Merkurs and maybe catch a beer or two with their owners while I'm in California. Anybody from the area want to show off how clean their car is to someone from the land of snow and salt?
