WTB Passenger side fog light

Post by DAReese » Fri May 20, 2016 5:00 pm

Looking at the Euro fog lights, and they are a little different than the US ones, or at least appear to be. US ones are flat, Euro are concave.

Had a lead on one, but it broke during removal. So does anyone know:

1. If the Euro ones will work?

2. Is there a good US one out there that is available?

3. Can the left one be converted to work on the right?

4. It looks like the Euro ones can have the glass replaced, but the US ones can't. Is this correct?

1) "work"? With enough effort, maybe. Bolt-in? Not likely.
2) Not that I'm aware. Hasn't been any new stock for years.
3) If you want to basically build one by hand, maybe.
4) US lenses often fall out, but they weren't designed to be replaced.

I "repaired" one set with borked lenses with sheet plastic. The other
typical problem is peeling chrome on the reflectors. There's no easy
home repair.

Someone should measure the dimensions of the Scorpio foglight against the Sierra Cosworth bumper fog light. Not that they're available either, but the 80's era Volvo 740 has the same size fog light that can be used as a replacement.

The Euro Scorpio and MkII Sierra use the same lights.

How are you mounting them? Looks like the mounting point is in the middle of the back.

XR lights are readily available. Even plastic lensed ones.
