I need to have this gone before the new year (deadline from the landlord).
The good:
Good motor with factory stock internals. Pulls strong with no leaks and does not burn oil. Freshly rebuilt Garrett T3 turbo, added top mount intercooler from Turbocpupe, bypass valve, boost controller and related turbo parts, new turbo oil and water coolant lines, refurbished fuel injectors (flow matched), stainless header, Stinger 3" exhaust with flexible couplings and header support bracket, new Flowmaster muffler, new guibo, new brakes, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel pump, all new sensors, wide band O2 sensor, replaced all hoses and clamps, and pretty much every other part that wears out has been replaced or upgraded. New Optima red top battery. Newer high performance tires. Most of the metal parts under the hood have been removed, stripped, repainted, and reinstalled.
Included with the car but not yet installed: New KYB shocks, upgraded springs, custom aluminum shorty radiator, Ford E6 exhaust manifold (no cracks), "Bob's log" custom exhaust manifold, Sierra Cosworth instrument cluster with 170mph speedo. Cosworth grill, and more (PM me for complete list). The lower cladding on the doors was removed (see pictures) but is included with the car.
I also have (6) of the Ford "Snowflake" style wheels from the T'Bird Turbocoupe. These are 16" aluminum and will fit the Merkur. I can include these with the car for an extra $200.
The bad:
The car runs great, and I was driving it regularly since I bought it in 2016, but last year it suddenly developed an electrical problem that I haven't had time to fix. One entire section of the under hood fuse panel went dead on the "hot" side, and now there are no headlights, running lights, brake lights, turn signals, heater fan, power windows, wipers, and most of the guages. Engine functions like the starter motor, coil, computer, and other vital systems work fine. I think a fusible link to common power under that section of the fuse box suddenly failed, and fixing that will restore power to all the affected systems. But the car can't be legally driven on the street until it's fixed.
The ugly:
Body is rough (it's 34 years old). It was obviously repainted once and there are some rust spots starting to show up under the door sills and a few other places. Its not too bad yet and it's certainly a worthy candidate for restoration and repaint, but if it isn't addressed sometime fairly soon it will only get worse.
The hatch isn't original, which is why it only has the single rear spoiler instead of the correct for 1987 dual spoiler .
The seats and carpet are trashed. Still functional, but looks horrible. I just used cheap seat covers to "solve" the problem.
The car has been sitting outside on my farm, unused, for the past year and it's accumulated some dust and grime, plus lots of bird droppings on it and even under the hood. You can see it in the pictures but that will clean up pretty easily.
