Rear disc brake kit 11" NEW DESIGN

Post by timxr8 » Sun Feb 28, 2016 8:52 pm

After a few setbacks and finally getting my templates made, I finally got everything mounted up. The bracket is designed for the Focus SVT 11" rear rotor and the 2012+ Ford C-Max and Escape rear caliper (NOT the Focus brackets). The caliper is aluminum with a steel bracket. The bracket will be made of aluminum with a couple of offsets machined into it to get the caliper bracket centered. I'm looking at about a month before these are made and in my hands. "Kit" will include 2x brackets and 4x flanged bolts. $80 shipped initially. If I can get at least 20 people interested, the price will go down at least $5.

Calipers can be found for less than $100 a pair (I got mine for $70 shipped)

The funny thing is, the Sierra parking brake cable fits right in perfectly. I have them for $65 shipped. $60 if you buy a rear bracket kit.

What year Focus SVT are you talking about for the rotors?

I just wanted to verify. I wonder if some other rotor would fit. Are these SVT rotors difficult to source?

Not hard at all. They can be anywhere from economy ~$8 a piece to the EBC for over $180 pair. My Autozone had 2 in stock when I checked.

man where was this kit last year, probably could have saved me some cash. I cant wait to see installed pics and hear feedback about the feel of it.
I wonder how the pad choices are (performance wise)

I had the idea a year ago, but hadn't gotten around to execute it yet. I'm excited too. I'll have extras if you want to change your mind. Pad choices are pretty vast as the pads are the same between the C-max/Escape and the Focus (ST included).

Is the rotor hub centric?

Yes. I wouldnt have bothered if they were not...or I would have had a ring made.

Will any of the stock wheels will clear this set up? Maybe the basket weaves?

I don't know about the 14", but I guarantee the stock 15" wheels will.
