Have you checked with the sponsors?
Re: WTB 88-89 brake master cylinder
Depends. Which? I have sent several inquiries and have received either "not right now" or no response. I run through the list of vendors I have used before I post here. If you'd like me to list each I have contacted and their response to me, I can do that. I am still awaiting responses but given this is my DD, I need something fast. I can't wait for "we're working on an adapter to fit the earlier model, easier to source 85-86 cylinder" ( that was one of the responses...at lest they replied).
I should probably call vs. send email.

Calling would be a lot faster...
You should look into using an entirely different master as these are nearly impossible to find.
There is a reason why they change midway through the run of cars, the older ones weren't as "good", I don't know the details on why though.
Go with one from a Scorpio, Merkur Midwest would have one and it uses battery instead of the booster, similar to that of a Hydraboost system.

Re: WTB 88-89 brake master cylinder
We have an adapter in the works for the late 87.5-89 brake booster...but it will be to adapt an upgraded, less expensive, more readily available master cylinder to bolt to it - not to "downgrade" to the early master.
If you need to get back on the road right away, this place shows they have 1 in stock:
https://www.autobrakecenter.com/brake-p ... -130.61201
Amazon shows they have them in stock, too: https://www.amazon.com/Centric-Parts-13 ... +130.61201

This is a good idea!merkurdriver wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 4:59 am We have an adapter in the works for the late 87.5-89 brake booster...but it will be to adapt an upgraded, less expensive, more readily available master cylinder to bolt to it - not to "downgrade" to the early master.
Re: WTB 88-89 brake master cylinder
Thank you! I do need one ASAP. It's my only car (that's driving). I saw the Amazon master cylinder last night. delivery is 6 weeks out. Fingers crossed that I can nurse it that long. The pedal will go to the floor but I can still stop if I pump it.
Hope everyone understands I'm not trying to dime anyone out. Really need one fast but they are hard to find. I have never had a master cylinder fail on any of my XRs so this is new for me. I was thinking last night about swapping all the components for another system.
Thanks for the assist!

Try Rapido. Ryan Dunham was in dire need of one 2/3 months ago and Russ at Rapido had one (or more) rebuilt unit on hand.

Another idea if you get desperate: you can always stick 1985-1987 master and booster in there to have brakes for right now

If you need a master & booster, I have 85-86 and 87-89 available ready to ship.

Re: WTB 88-89 brake master cylinder
Only have late model MC rebuild kits on hand at the moment for that quick quick solution (an some work).
Soon to have rebuilt masters as well but those take some time and cores aren’t coming back in timely fashion
